Reduce the social stigma against those who have been exposed to or infected with COVID-19.
- Do not generalize, discriminate, or show prejudice against race or people from countries experiencing crises.
- I sympathize with those who want to return to their home countries because of fear, hardship from unemployment, insufficient food, and limited access to medical services in some countries, coupled with very high medical costs.
- Do not bully. Treat these individuals with kindness and compassion. Do not bully or physically harm them.
- Don’t stigmatize people as carriers. Many infected individuals are unaware of their condition and travel to various places. Epidemiological investigations into their travel history are aimed at containing the spread of the virus.
- Once patients have fully recovered from their illness, they should be allowed to resume their normal lives, including their employment, participation in the community, and their involvement in society.
