Thailand, Center Of Love

I take great pride in being Thai and in having Buddhism as the national religion. I incorporate Buddhist principles and teachings into my daily life; for instance, I recite translated prayers every day, gaining insights that resonate with me—insights that might also benefit others. Buddhism teaches the value of giving and the practice of loving-kindness. Through my study of the Dhamma, I have learned that human life is akin to a single act in a play; upon death, we continue the cycle of rebirth unless we attain Nirvana. I have also practiced meditation, which serves as a form of mental healing that impacts the physical body—a practice that involves observing the breath, turning inward to study oneself, and examining the nature of the mind.

Buddhism teaches that when we die, everything is impermanent, arising, existing and ceasing. The only thing that remains is the mind and virtue. Meditation is a study of the mind. If we do not find nirvana, we will still have to go through the cycle of rebirth for a long time. Scientifically, the mind is transmitted like DNA, which is different for each person. From my study of the mind and meditation, studying chakras, a happy mind must have compassion, be grateful to parents, have a public spirit to help others, and know how to forgive. This will make us have a radiant mind. A mind of love and compassion starts with loving ourselves, thanking ourselves for being born, loving the people around us, and knowing how to forgive. Being born Thai, I have seen the nature of Thai people who are mostly Buddhists, have compassion, and have good hearts. However, Thai people lack teamwork and lack unity to support each other. So I want to be a small part to bring Thai people, friends from various institutes, to join the project of Thailand, a Buddhist city, a center of love and compassion, changing the world. I see that Thailand is a city of abundance, a land of Suvarnabhumi (a land of gold). Our ancestors have given us good things, starting with beautiful and exquisite arts and culture, and martial arts such as Muay Thai, which is famous worldwide. World-renowned culinary art

The art of healing through traditional Thai medicine

From what I have studied, balancing the four elements of earth, water, wind and fire is an art of healing at the root cause. I would like to support Thai traditional medicine and have Thai people turn back to take care of their own health with the science of Thai traditional medicine, which will be very useful in taking care of health by using the knowledge and wisdom of Thai traditional medicine, which is as delicate as our beautiful art and culture. Thai traditional medicine includes both treatment with various procedures and the use of herbal medicine to treat, restore and prevent disease. Thailand is a country with many kinds of herbs that can help people a lot, such as:

Cannabis in Thai traditional medicine has been used for a long time as a beneficial herb that helps reduce inflammation, which is the cause of the disease. Kratom has properties that help reduce diabetes well. There are many other herbs that are beneficial in Thai traditional medicine. There is a recipe that helps in treatment that uses the principle of a balanced taste. In Thai traditional medicine, the specific substance is not looked at, but rather the taste and texture are looked at, sour, astringent, sweet, salty, bitter, spicy, hot, fragrant, cool, bland, and intoxicating. It can be seen that the art of the recipe is more delicate and classic than using the properties of a specific substance alone.

From the study, it was found that using herbs is a good treatment at the root cause. But the disadvantage of herbs is that they must be used long-term. Therefore, I have brought the indicators for treatment that check the body score to assess health before we have to wait for the disease to take care of the balance and prevent NCD (behavioral diseases).

So I started the Food as Medicine project with the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine, Ministry of Public Health, to campaign for people to change their eating behavior, use water and food as medicine, reduce the use of drugs to the least or not at all to maintain health balance by using the principles of natural healing. I came to support Thai traditional medicine for children who study Thai traditional medicine to help promote Thai traditional medicine to be famous worldwide, just like Thai boxing and Thai food. I came to do the project “Thailand, the Buddhist Land, the Center of Love and Kindness, Changing the World”. It is time for Thai people to love each other and help each other, support and encourage each other so that the world envies us. If Thai people unite and support each other, I believe that Thai people are kind-hearted people but lack support for each other. When Thai people turn to support each other and use the principles of Buddhism in their lives, know how to love and forgive, people all over the world will definitely envy Thai people.
